Studying the circulatory system

Treasure House offers Biology as an exam subject due to the ease in relating the curriculum to everyday life. Students study subjects such as health, diet, exercise, ecology and reproduction.

In 2014 we are trialling GCSE Science B, for young people joining in Year 10, comprising the study of Biology, Chemistry and Physics as a single subject.  The hope is that this will offer a broader base for our students to build on in their Post 16 education.

The key aim within this subject is to introduce fundamental ideas and approaches to scientific discovery.  Studying Biology will increase students’ knowledge and understanding of living things, materials and physical processes developing the skills associated with science as a process of enquiry.

Science is taught at GCSE level and qualifications are available at both Foundation and Higher level.
