Providing education for 14-19 year olds who cannot cope in mainstream settings

Treasure House Offers Silver and Bronze Arts Awards

Treasure House (London) CIC is a specialist education provision, highly experienced in working with young people with anxiety and other emotional barriers, autism, dyslexia and school phobia.  The key aims of Treasure House are to support each student to feel comfortable and safe so that they can re-engage in the learning process. We also strive to provide access to high quality tuition across a broad curriculum.

There are many vulnerable young people in Southwark and surrounding boroughs who are missing out on education because their needs cannot be met in mainstream schools.  At Treasure House we aim to provide a warm, supportive and caring environment in which students, who have previously experienced difficulties, are able to flourish.  The students who attend Treasure House are often at varying levels of ability so we aim to provide them with tuition in a broad range of subjects that is suitable for their pace of learning.

Treasure House takes a holistic approach to education placing an emphasis on personal and social development through our  therapeutic approach – visit our Curriculum and Mental Wellness pages for more information.  Many students who cannot cope in mainstream schools want the same opportunity to gain qualifications as their peers.  Our approach provides students with the skills and qualifications that are required to allow them to move into the world of work or to progress into further education and ultimately higher education.  Creating the potential for students to have a brighter future that fundamentally suits them is something that we are extremely passionate about.

The Livesey Building

Originally a public library which later became a Children’s Museum, the Livesey Building is now our permanent residence.  With our remit to provide community services we’re extremely proud to be at the Livesey which marks an extremely important part of Treasure House’s ongoing development. Our aim is to create a beautiful, safe, peaceful environment where our students can feel valued and supported.

Safeguarding is effective. All staff are committed to keeping pupils safe and know what to do when concerns arise. Pupils confirm that they feel safe, and say they can be themselves at Treasure House.
